GoldTan™ posts are produced from high density forests near Nelson, the only high density growing region in the South Island. High density wood equates to high strength posts. GoldTan™ posts are rigorously strength tested, which means Goldpine can guarantee their strength.
If you were to purchase low density wood, you would need to buy posts 25% larger to have the same strength as a GoldTan™ post. And if the post were to come from thinnings or heartwood cores, then it would need to be around 50% bigger.
